From Kids Class to Instructor level

I have been going to this school for 24 and a half years. I have trained at this school under Sifu Keith Mazza since I was a kid. Sifu Keith, as well as the other instructors have always been extremely helpful, courteous, patient, and accommodating during classes and seminars. Sifu Keith teaches the principles of Wing Chun and incorporates them into all aspects of one's training which would be beneficial to any and every martial artist. Sifu Keith breaks down and explains the basics and fundamentals of all of the Wing Chun techniques in his repertoire, even going into detail about the mechanics and the anatomy of body structure and movement. He also explains the reasoning and purpose behind every drill and training exercise. Over the years he has expanded his teachings to not only empty-handed techniques, stick and staff weapons, and bladed weapons; but he also teaches firearms, firearm disarming techniques, and has students train in self-defense scenarios such having to defend yourself when inside of your car, empty-handed against an attacker with a weapon, against multiple attackers, as well as techniques in other martial arts and how to defend against them. I strongly recommend this school to anyone of any age regardless of whether they have any experience in martial arts or not. Sifu Keith and the other instructors are very motivating and encourage students to do their best and question the purpose of their training. Whether the purpose of one's training is to improve one's physical fitness, for competition, to defend oneself out on the street, for self-discipline, self-awareness, self-respect; they remind us to always keep in mind why you are training and to fight to accomplish your goals. These principles and training can help anyone in the martial arts field and in other facets throughout one's life.

“The Philosophy of Wing Chun

One who excels as a warrior does not appear formidable. One who excels in fighting is never aroused in anger. One who excels defeating his enemies does not join issues. One who excels in employing others, humbles himself before them. This is the virtue of non-contention, matching the sublimity of heaven. The Aim of Wing Chun Kung Fu is to develop physical, mental, and spiritual awareness. These elements transcend you to a higher level of life. Self-awareness, self-respect, and a duty to serve should be the goal in life for every martial artist. Meditate on these principles and make peace with your study of Kung Fu – A way of life.

When fear is removed, the arrogance of uncertainty is dispelled. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to prove yourself in any form of combat. By learning how to fight, you learn how not to fight."

Sifu Keith also helped me tremendously in my martial arts journey. I will continue to advocate for Sifu Keith, his instructors, and his school.
